Rule 1: Acknowledge and respect your opponent. That's the only way you'll take your problems seriously and deal with them.

Yeah, I've been saying that for a while (and getting downvoted by dumbasses). They've had several years now of experience battling cops and Proud Boys in the streets - that's way longer than Basic Training in the military! Most of us are still sitting on our asses doing nothing.

Agree that it's wise not to underestimate them, but have they ever actually won a battle? I seem to remember Proud Boys easily taking DC itself twice in the last couple of months.

When it comes to serious maimings, only Bicep Boy comes to mind, though there have been quite a few attacks on vulnerable targets, resulting in some injury. Think bike lock guy Eric Clanton.
And as far as tactical victory (controlling the objective), the right has literally driven them from the street almost every time they've ever shown up, whether in random California suburbs, random Oregon suburbs, or DC itself.
Again, totally agree that it's unwise to underestimate them. But it's encouraging that after years of "intensive training," their track record against actual resistance is pretty bad.

That is yet to be proven so we need to prepare for the worst. Urban conflicts are rarely easy or simple.
I wouldn't count on it. Antifa isn't the only street army that will be mobilized. Not only will urban street gangs and cartel types be pressed into service with promise of spoils by the Commies, but there tons of Lefties who own guns. Anyone who thinks only Conservatives own guns are out of their mind. Anyway, there likely won't be pitched gun battles in the streets - much of the violence will shift to bombings, political assassinations, and high profile kidnappings (just as we saw in Italy in the late 6s to early 70s when the Commies tried to take over there).
