Delisting will happen in 3 years IF the Chinese companies do not comply with USA accounting methods and standards.
It may be that big companies like BABA choose to comply with these accounting standards. Or they may be delisted and only available on other exchanges such as Hong Kong.
If you are holding shares at the time of a delisting there would likely be a process to transfer your shares to a foreign exchange.
