Good rock and roll started in the late 50s. American Bandstand was great getting new acts exposure. But the 60s was really where it was at. Just about Every song was great. Started going downhill in the 70s. Fewer and fewer songs were great. Same with the 80s. Country music took off in the 90s bec it was similar to the 60s music...a place for us boomers to go...lots of great tunes. Then 2000 came and there is no music anymore.

I was once texting a Gen X man about the song “Save the Last Dance for Me”. He was thinking Michael Bubble and I was thinking The Drifters. No comparison. So much great black MoTown music from the 60s now gone. Rap is crap. Country music is crap now. Everything is crap now.

Nobody forces uou to listen to that crap. I actually decided in 1985 that most modern music was crap, and I have been listening to all genres of 1950-1985 ever since.

The old music is still there! Who says you must listen to the new shit?

You do understand that in cultural revolution all music, film and art from the time before the revolution is banned right?

Go to China and see that everything before Chairman Maos revolution has been removed and banned outside of "the Forbidden City".

Actually, I was not aware of that! Thanks for that input! One more reason to preserve (conserve) what we have.
