I ended up cutting it as deep as I could with a dremel. Making sure I didn’t get into the barrel shoulder or extension. I did that on two sides, opposite of each other. Then it broke off in two pieces when I took it off. Reused his barrel and built out an all new upper. He is better off now.
Damn. Frickin assemblers not bothering to torque TO spec, not PAST spec.
I’ve never seen a pivot pin lug break from removing the barrel nut. That’s some crazy shit.
