He’s kneeling to the camera with his back to god. Everyone in that picture has turned their back on god. The symbolism is blinding.

I don't think he meant anything by it, being on his knees is just his default position. He spends most of his day kneeling in front of Jinping... he even forgets he doesn't have something in mouth when giving speeches occasionally.
