I don't know that I'd say infuriatingly ignorant, but infuriating...he's hardly ignorant about most things, and is generally honest when he is ignorant.
But he DOES arrive at conclusions I often have a hard time fathoming...
And a track record of said faith in humans and the systems of regulation we create being proven wrong. Scott likes to practice his persuasion skills on his viewers
Yes, that is his flaw. We saw that undo him during his support of BLM/ Hawk Newsom story arc. Onece that grain of good faith is gone, look out. I suppose it is a good way to be vs cynical from the start.
his takes on Great Reset and "malevolent COVID" are especially blinsided imo. For the rest he's usually right on spot. Except I think he's too pessimitic, although I can't deny he makes valid points.
Long story short he doesn't believe in anything Great Reset related and affirms it's just "some people insignificantly pushing for what they'd want, but without any grand plan connected to reality". Related, he affirms that it's 100% "guaranteed" that COVID's release was just an unfortunate accident, and also the lockdowns/masks/etc are just decision makers reacting to COVID the best they can, genuinely trying to limit the damage, without any kind of malevolency involved, just incompetence at worst.
He doesn't believe for a second that masks and lockdowns are a tool to control the population, using COVID as a convenient pretext.

read his cartoons, if not pessimistic they are cynical (and that's great)

He could do with a little more self reflection. He often falls into traps in thinking that he perfectly well knows exist.
he's ignorant to the dangers of communism, and way behind in spygate
I remember when he wrote on and on about climate change being real, and that you have no control of your fate.
