They’re absurdly energy dense. The original bush’s baked beans will feed most people for a day on a single can. Beans over soup any day. Make sure to keep in mind that foraging and hunting are huge components of survival when supply chains break down. Those two activities should be what keeps meals interesting with prepping as purely a this is what I need to survive calculation. Pretty much nobody is going to raid me for what amounts to soylent, beans, powdered eggs, steel cut oats, and rice if I’m not showing it off.

FACT: Almost every American household has all the equipment required to generate electricity. Washing machines are shit pedes. Easy to convert and incredible durable for this purpose.
