I’m aware of the meta analyses that showed success. But I thought all the “gold standard” controlled randomized double-blind studies were of the sort that were designed for failure (at best) and probably harmful.
The meta analyses are totally valid, especially in situations like this where it’s impossible to design a gold standard study without violating basic morality.

Please provide links, I can't say whether AMA adopted any views or not but the main point is that the AMA couldn't refute the evidence of HCQ effectiveness at treating Covid in early stages anymore and thus stopped blocking physicians from prescribing HCQ for Covid
