I've never been there.

Where is the protest likely to be? Where is the best area to book a hotel? Walking distance?

I know guns and even ammunition is illegal, but so is fucking fraud and treason, so?? It would take 4-5 days to drive so flying with weapons seems problematic, haha.

Looking for real advice here.

If you're taking a truck I would rent a 5 wheel and sleep in that, most likely you won't even find a room to stay in.

There seems to be availability as of now.

Just looking for best location.

Whish I could help, but my plan is to sleep in my truck or rent a 5th wheel before I get to DC.

If you are planning on using metro, I would check out a metro map and find a spot by a station.

In for the same info on lodging. WRT flying with guns, fly to Richmond and if anyone asks your final destination have a ready answer but don't say DC.

70 year old pede. If I fly in on the 6th get there 12:38 pm will that give me time to get to freedom plaza for the demonstration. Fly out 6am next day. In and out of Reagan. Planning on just going back to airport stay there till 6am and fly back out. Will that work. I’ve never been to DC either. I have nobody that can go with me.

You’ll be fine with timing. I don’t think we have a start time yet but it’s usually around noon (though people start to gather much earlier). I guarantee you’ll see others on your way. Try to stay with them (or others) at night when you head back to the airport. I highly recommend you not go alone after the rally.

Same, I've never been to DC. Probably will just drive since I'm in NC. Any help would be appreciated.

(Some of this info may not be applicable to you specifically but want to keep it all together for as many eyes as possible.)

-Orange line from Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station would be good.

-Do not transfer at China Town or L’Enfant Plaza (so avoid blue, green and yellow line because you would have to.)

-Bad stations would be Red line coming from Glenmont. If you take the red line, come in from Shady Grove-Bethesda, which is the opposite way from Metro Center. (Will make more sense looking at the map)

-Avoid stations around Capitol Hill.

-Metro Center is the safest choice for transfer. (Is also the stop for Freedom Plaza which is where the rallies normally begin)

I advise you not to stay in DC, unless you don’t mind getting caught up with antifa, etc.. towards the end. Some people want to be there for that and I totally support and encourage it. If you don’t want to be a part of all that, find a hotel around a Metro station and take the train in. The beginning station is called Shady Grove which is where we parked for the first rally (couldn’t make the one on the 12th).

Will be happy to provide you any other info.

Thank you. I want to stay where I can avoid taxis and Uber if possible. I have no idea where protests are or what areas are just bad idea. Thoughts?

If you want to stay in DC, look for a hotel around Freedom Plaza.

If you want to stay outside of the city, stay right outside of one of the Metro stops. I recommend off of the red line. The stop for Freedom Plaza is Metro Center.

Here is a link to a Metro map.

Anything through Shady Grove through Bethesda would be good.

Still here for any other questions.

You should be fine on orange line. GMU station should be good.

Just to put this here (and will also put out in other places):

-Do not transfer at China Town or L’Enfant Plaza (so avoid blue, green and yellow line because you would have to.)

-Bad stations would be Red line coming from Glenmont. If you take the red line, come in from Shady Grove-Bethesda, which is the opposite way from Metro Center. (Will make more sense looking at the map)

-Avoid stations around Capitol Hill.

-Metro Center is the safest choice for transfer. (Is also the stop for Freedom Plaza which is where the rallies normally begin)

Yes. Have to run otherwise would give some more info.

Check out the link: https://www.flyreagan.com/dca/metrorail-station

Any questions, let me know and I’ll respond as soon as I can (might be a couple of hours).

Oh and the rally will likely start at Freedom Plaza.

This is what I needed to know. From what I see I think that is a good guess.

Booked a room.
