If anyone is going, I am hearing DC and Arlington but don't forget the Maryland burbs just north of DC--Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville, etc. Check hotel prices there. Also if you're not driving find out if Uber or a taxi would work from there, it's not far. Hotel can get you the hire cars. Edit: Travelodge by Wyndham Silver Spring $64/night. Check tripadvisor.
