I don't downvote shit I disagree with. I downvote shit that I find to be absolute garbage that only serves to cause damage to the community and movement. I try my hardest to be disciplined with my downvote, but I am human after all so I don't always hold to those principles.

However, I would be careful in arbitrarily determining that someone is going against the grain or breaking the echo chamber just based on number of downvotes.
