You can bring phones but I'd turn them off and put them in a faraday pouch. Most people have an old point-and-shoot digital camera in a drawer that can also do video. Take that with you. Bring radios for communications, and extra batteries. Take snacks and water. Dress warmly, and bring along a few hand warmers.

True. Once you remove it from the faraday pouch, even turned off, assume it has contacted one or more cell towers in your location. Two towers is enough to pinpoint your exact location. Phones do talk to towers when turned "off."

Two towers is enough to pinpoint your exact location.

Yeah, considering my grades in physics and trig, you'll have to show me proof of that.

Yep at the inauguration in 2017 all they asked for to get in was to show them you had a working cellphone! I had a knife and they didn’t even have metal detectors just showing a phone was enough.

Can you explain the phone thing? Just to prevent being tracked?

Also one of the first things Antifa will do if they see you recording is try to take your phone and smash it. Just keep it gripped tightly.

All phones are satellite accurate tracking devices with both remote audio and video recording capabilities even with them turned off.

If you can't remove your battery, assume your phone is listen to and recording video at all times

Keeping your phone in a Faraday pouch (basically metal lined pouch) prevents it from tracking you, but doesn't prevent it from recording any audio.

Another option is to pull the sim and conceal it on your person. Then you at least have an option if you can get your hands on a phone if you need it. Also, many forget but you can also store phone numbers on a sim so you can keep emergency contacts there.

Yes. This was not intended to address that.

Is there a way to automatically back up recordings to a remote location without a wifi camera? In case it does get taken then the recordings can't be deleted and you can still access them without the device
