Any plan is going to suffer disruption. Plan at least two layers deep. I'd advise traveling in an RV or some other method where you're not stuck relying on a static rendezvous point.

Too risky to rely on airlines
There are a lot of ways how you can be sabotaged, planes canceled, gps service going down, google maps going down, cell service going down, so prepare to rely on the infrastructure, especially the online portion as little, as possible. Take a paper-based map, food / water, radio, anything you can think of to make you having to rely on things outside of your control as little as possible.
And bring your guns, of course.
