Many patriots are planning to answer the call of our President, Donald J. Trump, and descend on Washington, DC on January 6, 2021. I wish I could join you all, but circumstances make that inadvisable. However, I will gladly provide some advice.
Plan ahead. DC in January is no Valley Forge, and instead of a smallpox epidemic, there's only a flu season with good PR. But you must go with it in mind to have to rough it like the Continental Army. Even if you were welcome at all available lodgings (and you won't be, rest assured), there wouldn't be enough to accommodate everyone. It's simply a fact of life that a couple million red-blooded patriots are going to arrive and have no place to sleep. Now is the time to do your homework, and find out what the laws in DC are with regards to camping out and also bearing arms. Heller v. DC may have restored some of our 2nd Amendment rights in DC, but that doesn't mean the Lefties won't ignore the law and try to harass you or worse. Any law professionals out there who can add to this, now is the time to chime in.
As for camping, circumstances may lead you to a longer stay than simply January 6. If our President calls on you to remain, you need to be ready to. Cold weather gear is paramount, and you can supplement it with Space Blankets, mylar sheets which can be used to line tents or simply as wraps to sustain body heat. They're cheap and usually easily available online. Be sure you have supplies for grooming and hygiene. It won't do for the press to criticize our side for issues they never brought up about Antifa or BLM, but you know they will. Carry cash. Credit cards can be tracked, and there may also be service disruptions that make electronic transactions impossible.
Have a plan for what to do if things go bad, and apply that definition, "bad," to as many scenarios as you can imagine. What if the DC Metro Police are called on you for some mopery? What if you have to get out of DC in a hurry? What if agents provocateur start operating within your ranks to stir up trouble for you? Be prepared to police your own, even if they're not really your own. Remember that a million people need a LOT of toilets, and the Left are going to attempt to deny you access to them, and any other vital resource, such as clean water. Do your damnedest to leave a clean camp when you leave, and be on your best behavior, especially where local civvies are concerned. You represent not only yourselves, but our President. Don't give the Left anything to pin on you, or on him.

Many patriots are planning to answer the call of our President, Donald J. Trump, and descend on Washington, DC on January 6, 2021. I wish I could join you all, but circumstances make that inadvisable. However, I will gladly provide some advice.
Plan ahead. DC in January is no Valley Forge, and instead of a smallpox epidemic, there's only a flu season with good PR. But you must go with it in mind to have to rough it like the Continental Army. Even if you were welcome at all available lodgings (and you won't be, rest assured), there wouldn't be enough to accommodate everyone. It's simply a fact of life that a couple million red-blooded patriots are going to arrive and have no place to sleep. Now is the time to do your homework, and find out what the laws in DC are with regards to camping out and also bearing arms. Heller v. DC may have restored some of our 2nd Amendment rights in DC, but that doesn't mean the Lefties won't ignore the law and try to harass you or worse. Any law professionals out there who can add to this, now is the time to chime in.
As for camping, circumstances may lead you to a longer stay than simply January 6. If our President calls on you to remain, you need to be ready to. Cold weather gear is paramount, and you can supplement it with Space Blankets, mylar sheets which can be used to line tents or simply as wraps to sustain body heat. They're cheap and usually easily available online. Be sure you have supplies for grooming and hygiene. It won't do for the press to criticize our side for issues they never brought up about Antifa or BLM, but you know they will. Carry cash. Credit cards can be tracked, and there may also be service disruptions that make electronic transactions impossible.
Have a plan for what to do if things go bad, and apply that definition, "bad," to as many scenarios as you can imagine. What if the DC Metro Police are called on you for some mopery? What if you have to get out of DC in a hurry? What if agents provocateur start operating within your ranks to stir up trouble for you? Be prepared to police your own, even if they're not really your own. Remember that a million people need a LOT of toilets, and the Left are going to attempt to deny you access to them, and any other vital resource, such as clean water. Do your damnedest to leave a clean camp when you leave, and be on your best behavior, especially where local civvies are concerned. You represent not only yourselves, but our President. Don't give the Left anything to pin on you, or on him.
