Then the Europeans set about fighting one another for the next two hundred years, whether it was French vs. British, Colonials vs. British, North vs. South, USA vs. Spain, Entente Powers vs. Central Powers, etc. The history of Asia is even more brutal, many more killed.
That is correct. There was an article in Scientific American years ago about how Native Americans had a different complement system (part of the immune system) that made them vulnerable to diseases that no longer threatetened most people of Asian, European or African origin. Those three continents had contact with each other going back to the origins of mankind.
If Native Americans had the immunity of Old World peoples they definitely could have put up a stronger fight for their lands. I just did not have the space to fill in all the details.

Denial of past sins is common amongst Asian cultures, such as Tiananmen Square. Even in Russia they realize the horrors of communism.
