No such thing. Sometimes they have been more honest than others, but that's just by coincidence of motivations and depended on whatever the current political climate was. Until the 1900's news peddlers generally had a reputation for dishonestly and gossip. People tended to like a particular local paper, but just because something was printed didn't mean they believed it 100%.
The problem isn't just a lack of honesty, but the fact that a small number of news corporations - even those with foreign influence - control the narrative for our entire country, and that the public is somehow spellbound by them and thinks they're giving them an accurate picture of the world. That's scary.
The spellbound part is incredible. It’s literally like North Korea these days. Zombie-eyed NPCs believing they have moral high ground while having literally no clue what is going on.
While what you say is true it's also true that most people have some ability to critically evaluate information and a human need for accurate information.
There are still people interested in producing honest objective journalism. Some of them, like former CBS news anchor Sharyl Attkisson, have begun to turn their reporting on their former employers and expose the rot. Her book "Slanted" describes how the sausage is made in great detail. It's a great read.
At some point, the reported fantasy becomes too frequent and too wild to digest for the majority. That is how I wound up here 6 years ago. I used to be a huge fan of PSB radio. Over time, their reporting got more and more extreme. This led me to start questioning not only PBS but all sources of news and information. When Trump came on the political scene in 2016 his direct manner of pointing out fake news accelerated the process of red pilling the masses. In a rather short period of time more and more mainstream politicians have gained some courage in taking on these fake news corporations directly eg; Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Josh Hawley - The list is growing.
Trump tore the lid off by taking on these propagandists directly in front of the whole world. The genie won't fit back in her bottle for hundreds of millions of people.
Fake news by its very nature requires supporting current lies with new lies and while there is no limit to the number and type of lies there is a limit to how far the human mind is willing to go to believe in fantasy. It's not sustainable.
Take heart. We are winning this war even when, in the heat of battle, we temporarily appear to be losing. Millions of us are now battle-hardened and immune to the strategies of the enemy. We grow stronger day by day.
80's and 90's you had very light propaganda, but even CNN was maybe left leaning, but it was still news. NOW, it is straight bold face lying. You turn on one channel, and it is precisely the opposite of what someone on newsmax might say, its insane.
Well hones journalism hasent been since 1950's..It all started after WW2..The nazi with help of the rich in the US (Rockerfeller)tinfiltrated the military industrial complex,NASA,CIA wich Eisenhower understood and by then it was to late..But he created a plan..A plan with the military to unfold in the future..And we are living that plan now.
If you want honest journalism then you need honest universities. To get honest universities you need to stop funding them with student loans so they get bloated. Also maybe make a rating site to see how based and woke a university is.
There needs to be more conservative anti-woke universities.
Like the 1970's. All I had to worry about was being incinerated by a Russian ICBM. Good times, good times. But I get your point, Politicians at least acted like they loved America. Watch the Iran contra hearings. The Republican lawyer ate the Democrats lunch. It was amazing.

The funny thing is this danger never went away. Even with START treaties and the fall of the Soviet Union we still have thousands of ICBMs pointed at us.
While he does look like a fat little piggy and it would be funny to see him with an apple stuffed in his mouth, it does no good to roast him over an open fire because no one is interested in cooking spoilt meat.
I have always wanted to see Brian Stelter turning on a spit with an apple in his mouth.
I just want to wake up to a world where America is on top, free, safe and with honest journalism again.
It shouldn't be too much to ask for since we used to have all of those things

One of the last times we saw honest reporting is when that did said "Fuck it, we're doing it live".

Before the 50s there was "yellow journalism".
Journalism hasn't been reliable or ethical since the invention of the printing press.
Wait, what’s wrong with NASA?
Prescott Bush was the start.
We’ve never had honest journalism. Maniacs like Jesse James were pumped and practically made by fake news.

funny
Don't think you're going to get out of this. You hunt with the party, or you don't eat.
This is a dream, and we need to wake up. This mess was caused by us not following through on our responsibilities, so it is up to us to fix it.

The media just stopped talking about it.
I'll settle for hom and his chicom cohorts lying in a slit trench.
Ah, yes. Heterosexual non-gay Brian Stelter who likes women.
Waste of good charcoal. Tossed in a dumpster fire would be more appropriate.
Have you checked his p0rnhub account?
Lolz

He should be tossed in a deep pit.
