It probably would have helped if they told their family members in the US to vote for Trump. My wife was born there and moved here with her family - all but her (15 others) voted for Biden. I've also told my wife to have a backup to Line (the Taiwanese-based video chat app), since that will likely be gone soon. Her family is moving to Google as I speak (oh well, better than nothing!).
