In 2 1/2 weeks? Maybe if they're in decent shape already but if you don't run and train you're not going to get a lot in that time frame. By all means start, but do not stop January 6th. Thats a beginning not an end.

Street fights last less than 45 seconds. Don't ever let someone get within 6' of you without throwin a punch or backin off. No one has a right to stand toe to toe with you.

If you've never been full contact pressure tested, you're best off looking for opportunities to jump in and help a fellow pede. Practicing forms in a mirror, or versus unresisting partners doesn't help...
