Punishing the lawless is not an act of lawlessness. Guarding against them, is not an act of lawlessness.

The problem is that you have allowed yourself to be held captive to what a hostile enemy proclaims to be "fair." Even though that definition has shifted constantly before you over and over again.

Caring what the people who want us dead think, is the path to giving them the chance to do it.
