Nobody paid attention to seasonal flu numbers, so without that context they think covid 19 is bad and dangerous.
Nobody looks for the actual facts, average age of death is 79 and pretty much all deaths (excluding the suicudes, car accidents and others) are people who were in bad shape to begin with. If the media says something, it must be true. That's why the CDC and what not only make the information that gets attention hard to find (like overall death rate for the country)
Nobody remembers the press conferences from the smallest areas all the way to the federal level saying "look, we're going to count everything we can remotely connect to the virus as a death from the virus"
Nobody remembers that we only started talking about masks because Cuomo ordered sick patients back to nursing homes and those nursing homes made a fuss that they didn't have the supplies to handle it. Social media control did the rest, thus mask mandate.
Nobody remembers that we knew the virus was going to spread everywhere so we locked down to keep the hospitals from being too overwhelmed. We were going to accept our fate.... yet hospitals laid off workers and Social media, once again, kept it going.
Does anyone else remember the doctors from California saying that they found that the virus isn't bad? They got deplatformed then memory holed. They have been proven correct.
The issue is mass use of social media. You scroll and mindlessly read stuff, you react and move on.... without making sure you actually have the information. This has everyone acting drugged. An attention span of five fucking seconds.
This issue is not only on the left. The actions of those lunatics is because their world view makes them react that way. The folks on the other side react in following LARPs and thinking shit will sort itself out.
Plenty of people see that it's a scam, but there's a concerted effort by big tech and the mainstream media to silence them and label them as conspiracy theorists.
They deliberately squashed a cheap cure (hydroxychloroquine/etc) that could have saved thousands of lives. Now there's another very cheap cure (Ivermectin) that they're ignoring as well. It's just like climate change - they talk a big game, but they still fly around on private jets and buy huge seaside houses.
They're not interested in an actual cure, or actually saving lives.
How can you say "no one" sees it? Millions see it.
Never in history has anyone had to be constantly reminded or convinced that a deadly plague or pandemic is going on. It becomes immediately obvious when it is. Nor do you have to convince people to lock themselves away when it happens. Fear of what they see with their own two eyes is more than enough to do that.
