Nearing? 3k out of 100k is 3%. The covid death rate is about 0.03% unless you've got a lot of comorbidities. It's 100x higher.
To be fair, death is a lot worse than a "health impacting event" and people are lazy af these days so they might be exaggerating their cases to get more sick days. It's still a shitty vaccine.

Minimum day off required after second dose?!
“If this proves to work, people are going to have to toughen up,” she said. “The first dose is no big deal. And then the second dose will definitely put you down for the day for sure. … You will need to take a day off after the second dose.”
One experienced a cardiac arrest 62 days after vaccination #2 and died 3 days later, and the other died from arteriosclerosis 3 days after vaccination #1.”
A mild fever the next day will count as a health impact event. Which is very common with all vaccines. Until details of what they are reporting it’s safe to assume it’s normal next day vaccine icky feelings. Vaccines cause immune responses. Immune responses tend to make you fatigued and not feel great. That normally only lasts a day or two with a vaccine.
Saying we’ve had a fairly decent sized trials already and the current response is directly in line with what the trials showed. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that things will go in line, at least mostly, with the trials.
And In the trials, people died, got bella palsy, fainted, plus a million other side effects. So "going in line," with the trials is not necessarily a good thing
Because a pharma company would never tweak trial data where there is a ton of money on the line and they have zero liability (it has been done before).
I'mm sure the trials for Vioxx, DES and thalmadhide all showed they were safe too...just to name a few. This from the unethical industry who brought us the opioid epidemic. Not to mention mRNA technology, a brand new technology.
I'm not concerned about short term effects, I'm concerned about what this does in the long run...all for a disease with a 99.7+% survival rate. Look, I'm fine if people want to take this and I wish them the best, but I will protect my right to bodily integrity to my dying breath.
Fuck you. No one here is getting that piece of shit vaccine. Please go sterilize yourself with it however. Hopefully your face doesn't paralyze or you die from the first second third fourth shot from this year. But since the virus mutates every fifteen minutes, you'll need many many many shots over the course of the rest of your life
We need more data of course. But what if many of these people have lifelong issues now from this vaccine? There's just no way to know at this point. Not worth the risk in my opinion unless you're very old or very high risk.
In my opinion it's not even worth the risk if you are very old or have other health issues. They intentionally included old people and other high risk groups in the Moderna vaccine trial and out of over 30,0000 participants there were only 30 serious cases and only one person died of the virus.
Sure there is no way to know. But we aren’t exactly stupid. We can have a pretty good idea about the risk of long term issues. And frankly there isn’t any reason to believe there will be long term issues. Not knowing for sure about something isn’t the same as that thing being likely.
We know that having antibodies to the spike protein doesn’t cause long term issues. And the vaccine is only producing a protein similar to that. It’s not using any of the other proteins within Covid that we do know causes issues. For instance the scare about fertility issues is not caused from the spike protein. They know specifically which proteins cause that and they aren’t being utilized in this vaccine.
Of course no one should get the vaccine unless they feel it’s safe. But it’s false to be making claims about it causing long term issues when there is currently 0 data to even hint of that being a problem.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say we haven’t fully tested it yet but that’s not what many people here are doing. I’ve been a trump supporter from day 1 and I find the doom and gloom that’s popped up since we left Reddit to be disturbing.
Just because someone makes a claim doesn’t mean it’s credible, it’s just more fake news. We need to insulate ourselves from fake news even fake news we want to believe.

I thought the exact same thing

By definition, this is an EXPERIMENTAL vaccine. It is not "safe to assume" anything at this point.

I'll take my chances with the virus.

You are correct. Thanks for your input!
It's hard to read from the tweet, so I went to the CDC website. Here is the definition of health impact event:
Correct a mild fever would be that for anyone right now. Since a fever means you are supposed to stay home.
