The Military Has to Stay Neutral - Which is why YOU Have Your Second Amendment - as in We the People - We The Citizens - are you getting the picture yet - its not there Job - Its OURS :)

It isn’t the function of the military to assure one candidate wins an election, but it certainly appears to be a legal function to assure election integrity when civilian authorities refuse to do so.

If civilian authorities after the civil war prevented freed slaves from voting or prevented blacks from entering a university as did George Wallace did in 1963 , It would certainly be within the authority of the president to use the military to assure their civil rights were not violated.

I don't think they senior military officers that are stating this are referring to stopping mass uprising. Although, I don't think they will do that. I think they are referring to General Flynn's comments about holding new elections in the contested states and have them run by the military. People on this site take everything to the extreme and put nothing in context.
