Russia is small potatoes. They have an economy the size of California and are struggling economically (like California) - but we are meant to believe that they are behind every conspiracy in the universe.
Then you have China - which controls most of the media conglomerates, controls big tech, has tentacles in the US government from the very top of Federal all the way to local city government officials. They control the NBA, video game companies, the NFL, advertising companies and even high ranking Vatican officials. China also has a giant economy second only to the USA. China openly hates America and everything America stands for.
