Catholic misuse and gateway keeping of the term "saint." The "Saints" are those "Sanctified" by Christ, I.E. any and all believing Christians, spared the wrath of God and saved from their due punishment in Hell. As much as is laid out in Scripture.
By all means, live the way that (I assume, I know very little about him) Nicholas lived, which would be a life of faith and good works. Use him as an Example. But he is a saint, and I am a saint, and yet both he and I were born sinners, and he is only a sinner no more because he is WITH his Savior, while I still remain on the Earth in His service.
