Great idea! Problem is, they will likely threaten to ban you, so that technique may only work once plus you will no longer be able to fly that airline, limiting your future pricing options.
Here's another idea. Not sure how it might work, but here goes. Organize 25 to 50 people or more to buy inexpensive tickets on the same flight.
Then, on the day of the flight, all 25-50 ticket holders contact the airport and say you have a fever and a cough, and therefore can't make the flight. After all, you don't want to "kill" anyone. Presto, empty flight!
I am not sure if you could get a refund easily or not, but, I think they would have a hard time justifying charging patrons for a ticket they did not use for trying to protect their fellow man by not giving them the "deadly" China Flu". Worse case, you would likely get a credit in which you could use to repeat the punishment.
If we could get thousands of people across the country to organize and attack airlines and other businesses with similar measures, we may be able to force them to reject these unconstitutional edicts OR go broke.
Open to better ideas and more than willing to organize and participate.
I like this but think they won’t refund it, they’d still get their money.
When you book there are mask requirements plastered everywhere, maybe a better form of protest where you aren’t buying tickets you’ll never get a refund for?
Well, I think we are at the point now that we are going to have to "incur" damages and sue! If airlines do what you suggest, (not refund your money OR offer a credit for another flight), the patron would certainly be "damaged" and therefore be eligible for a remedy from the courts.
Plus, do you think if you came to the airport with a temperature, coughing and gasping for air, they would let you on the airplane EVEN WITH A MASK? Further, do you think they are going to REQUIRE you to prove that you had symptoms by coming to the airport and exposing everyone? I DON'T THINK SO.
The fact is, airlines are not going to let you fly WITH OR WITHOUT A MASK if you have any of the scary symptoms of the CHINA FLU. That's a fact!
Understand that if they DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS, they are going to encourage "sick" people to fly, thereby exposing others to the "deadly" disease. HOW DO YOU THINK THAT IS GOING TO GO OVER?
Airlines are either going to have to ALLOW sick people on (as you suggest they will) so they can get their money and expose innocent people to the "deadly" virus OR they with have to EITHER offer a refund OR credit for another flight to the "sick" patrons.
Consider a wealthier patron who purchases a $5K first-class ticket, only to legitimately come down with symptoms of the "China Flu" the night before the flight.
Ask yourself if the airline is going to do what you suggest, say sorry, the $5K is ours. Too bad for you? What do you think that wealthy patron is going to do. (Hint), wealthy people don't get wealthy buy squandering their money.
I think your position is well-taken but misguided.
Would they actually turn the plane around in that case? Or would they land, then kick you off and ban you leaving you stranded?
I’ve considered doing something similar, I heard if they kick you off they need to refund your money immediately; this is a one time protest for the protesters, due to an ensuing ban afterwards.
I asked this before in a comment, and I was serious: is going in “the wrong way” in a TSA exit lane “a crime”?
Adding: There are laws you have to follow flight attendants instruction, and they somehow have been “empowered” to make you wear a mask and wear it correctly. If you had a panic attack immediately on takeoff and had to take it off so you can breathe, that’s one thing, if you take it off and tell them to fuck off, they might try and fuck with you upon landing
I wouldn’t be concerned about the ban, I’d be concerned about the other Nazis that may fuck with you after that.

Better yet don’t fly on United ever. I have a friend at one of their hubs. The United planes are sitting idle.
Break them bankrupt them
They’ll just get a government bailout. They literally don’t care
You suggest I give United my money for a ticket to cost them money and be arrested?
First. I don’t give business to commies. So I guess that lack of understanding goes both ways.
What mask?
Nice projection

That is so perfectly petty.
So is the mask BS.
This is an amazing idea, that’s the only way they’ll learn
https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/ surely there is some red tape we could tangle them with.
Remember when they BTFO of that Indian doctor?
