I need a lawyer.like this.

I run a small business and rarely have needed a lawyer, but I should try to get.one on retainer.

I have had a few instances where competition has sent threatening letters and I had the attorney reply. They were too nice.

It's like most lawyers are in a big club and they just follow the template for legal stuff. Back and forth letters, trying to one up each other I'm the most legal and nicest way.

I need one who has balls!

I agree. We could all learn a few basics like how to adress a judge or something. But beyond that, i dont think we should REQUIRE a lawyer. We could always hire 'consultants'. But the case should fought by us individuals. That way the only billable is for the 'consultancy".

they-see-me-trollin 26 points ago +26 / -0

they already opened themselves up to discovery. as soon as someone threatens to sue you, you can file for what's called declaratory judgment that basically rules you have not violated their rights. it's one of many major legal strategies.

17
SteelMongoose 17 points ago +17 / -0

Which is why they'll never get near a courtroom with this

Smartmatic isn't Dominion from a legal perspective even though they have a history connected by Sequoia software and personnel. Smartmatic challenging what claims are being made regarding this election and how their name has been used may actually be something a judge would agree with. Its Dominion who used the software that caused all the vote manipulation, not Smartmatic. I'm not even aware of Smartmatic having any issues from this election get brought to court or validated in any manner.

Lin Wood is probably hoping for Discovery to turn up leads that can be used to go after Dominion even harder, but Smartmatic definitely is getting a lot of heat over issues Dominion is responsible for and they can definitely use that argument in court.

1
orangemanwins202020 1 point ago +1 / -0

is this really true?

1
Thetigerpoppy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Which part?

I refuse to guess what courts will do nowadays, but depending on the angle Smartmatic takes they might have a reasonable point, but I also don't know what Powell has for information behind her claims so she might laugh them right out of court

1
jager 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lin knows that Dominion has a long standing licensing agreement with Smartmatic and they have a non-compete agreement in various jurisdictions.

After Lin Wood said that they cannot sue him for defamation, they would have to sue him for defamation. It's very anticipated, otherwise, it means they admitted a fraud.

3

They'll be ruled against regardless.
