Monometal solids loaded with 300 to 400 grain bullets with 3,500 to 3,600 ftlbs isn't to sneeze at. That's what can be shot out of this more than a century and a quarter old design. To beat it you have to go with modern bolt action magnums or old African double rifles. Unless you want to go with a Barrett or similar .50 BMG., then yes you can beat it all to hell. And yes, for long range sniper shots this isn't the rifle. But this rifle of this design can be carried and used against any game or dangerous game animal and has more rounds at the ready than any comparable modern bolt action or the old doubles.
