It isn't just that. No demographic is consistently more egotistical, narcissistic, and self-centered than young adults. While teenagers often exhibit the same behavior, they're limited by societal views on them and sometimes legal parameters (ie. Must be 18/19/21 to do X, Y, Z). Yet for young adults we are seeing it taking more years for people to mature and take on responsibilities than before, yet they're treated like they know more simply because they have a degree, compared to someone who is 50+ years old with 20+ years experience doing something.
Young adult liberals commonly exhibit behaviors you see in little children, yet instead of having improved these behaviors over time it is now exacerbated by the fact that society seemingly treats them as intelligent, and their elders as old fools who are stuck in the past and cannot adjust.

Both of mine went to government schools but - I was on school board( elected) and with the younger as well as the older I tutored them with every subject pointing out the disinformation that is rampant in public Ed— spent hours with both kids ( as a family) in rural setting teaching real life skills and scenarios— my grandkids are being raised the same way. There’s a term I’ve always heard used to tame a wild animal— called “manning” means you hold wild beast that is terrified ( often injured) safely until it falls asleep due to fear and exhaustion then you gain it’s trust ( cause you didn’t harm it while it was most vulnerable) — parents need to be better— hold their terrified kids( daycare has ruined families) so they trust you and then you can teach and guide them— I completely trusted my folks and my kids trust me

In fact, a lot of states' laws outright forbade it, and even in states that didn't, there was still that (fraudulent) veneer of respectability teachers enjoyed ("They are the experts, brilliant and trained to teach; you parents aren't smart enough to teach your own kids").
