I am going to guess that Dominion or some other group has clawback provisions that fuck over a state if they let the machines “source code” or “proprietary hardware” secrets be audited.
This would give the DA the reason needed to defend the machines instead of the public, because if failure to protect the machines costs the state hundreds of million of dollars, then the DA has to protect the machines, and by proxy, the tax payer...
