I casually mentioned to a leftist today who was whining about nobody having the Christmas Spirit anywhere (she was thinking of buying a tree at our tree lot) that in the UK they had locked down tier 4 areas and were going to arrest people trying to leave to celebrate Christmas with family.
No shit, she says "WE SHOULD DO THAT HERE! Then people will realize how lucky we are to only have curfews and masks!"
And she was serious. Then she proceeded to whine about the cost of trees, and why did things from "family farms" have to be so expensive. Asked the price for our wreaths then said she could get one at Trader Joes for 12.99. I told her if I used sweat shop labor and child labor in foreign countries my wreaths would be 12.99. But I make them myself. She got grumpy and said "well, at least at trader Joes they are helping poor people..."
She ended up buying nothing. I patted myself on the back for not kicking her the fuck out. Hubby congratulated me for holding my temper lol.
