Armslist, uncheck the boxes for premium vendors and trades, filter by state and county

plenty of people selling shotguns and bolt actions and usually a few semi rifles that aren't double price (most of the ARs in my area are double or triple priced at this point, but not all of them)

if you don't mind driving to meet some random dude it's a great way to get never been registered stuff for only mildly gouged prices

Home defense long gun: 12-Gauge pump from Mossberg or Remington

I have a Sig P365XL - highly recommended as CC. Mossberg 500 12 gauge. Indestructible, inexpensive, accurate. An 12 ga shells are still plentiful.

We have similar tastes in guns. Too bad I lost mine all on a deep sea fishing accident in the Gulf of Mexico.

The “Government” pays for nothing my friend. They are lending you your future earnings, at a terribly high interest rate to boot.

First thing you should consider is what ammo is available still, unless your gonna hand load.
