He originally was a never-trump rino during the 2016 campaign. He became Trump's running mate as part of a deal with the RNC rinos. He also got one of the infamous envelopes at the Bush funeral... so he is loyal because he has no choice.
Possibly... I wasn’t a fan but he kept his mouth shut during the impeachment when any other politician would have started distancing himself. For a swamp rhino, he’s done good.
