This has nothing to do with Pence having discretion, all he does is count votes.
When objections are lodged at the EC, which we expect to be given and seconded by both House member sand Senators as per announced intentions, then these objections go to per-chamber votes to see if they sustain. Senate is closer, but too many GOPe traitors have already said they will NOT sustain the objections.
Similarly, the House will not sustain, because even though the Dem majority is slim (10ish votes) they still Do have majority.
The bottom line is that the objection will be a valiant effort but dont have the votes to sustain. period.
UNLESS there is enough public pressure on Senate members and House members between now and then to change already-stated positions.
I hate to be the realist here, but that is the situation according to the rules.
its a good point - if solid evidence of the fraud we all know happened is uncovered - and I mean solid empirical evidence as opposed to circumstantial - then its possible we could pressure enough House reps AND Senators to support objections, Im just saying as it stands right now we HAVE the objections, but we dont have the passing votes to sustain - close, but not there.
this is why primarying all congresspeople to only have MAGA GOP (as opposed to GOPe) is critical. If we had all MAGA GOP in congress, we COULD sustain these, and the fraud would not be allowed.
we arent going to get the Senate - too many Senators have already gone on record saying they will not support objections, we wont have majority (all GOPe of course).
Anything could happen if solid evidence comes to light in the next week or so, but Im just laying out the honest llay of the land as it stands right now.
Then Pence can do way more too. If a voting machines only job is to count votes, and it does way more yet was still certified, I don't see why Pence is different
as far as that process goes (objections at the EC in Congress), we WILL get the objections, but they wont sustain, based on announced intentions so far.
So if we go by what we know now, yes we lose.
HOWEVER, that is regarding that one process only, and the actions of the players COULD change between now and then depending on what comes out.
yes, that IS what will happen if we get to a contingent election.
unfortunately, to HAVE a contingent election the EC has to result in no one getting 270 (or a majority of all EC electors present), which would require the swing states in questions' electors to NOT count - and that can only happen if either a) federal objections that are sustained or b) legislatures pass binding resolutions certifying Trump electors - if b) happens Trump could win outright, if a) happens we would go to a contingent election which Trump would win.
But yea, the sticking point to accomplish a) is the sustaining votes of the objections. We simply dont have enough votes (yet) in either chamber. Like I said, if we had strong enough stuff come out or enough public pressure happen before 1/6 that could change, but at least we should all be aware of the options and pathways accurately.
Code Monkey is an idiot.

Then the objection is overruled
All Dominion does is count votes.
You should look into dominion a little more. It does WAY more than just count votes.
Then Pence can do way more too. If a voting machines only job is to count votes, and it does way more yet was still certified, I don't see why Pence is different
Also anyone that downvoted is a moron that missed the point
Absolutely correct assessment in my view.
