He disliked hypocrisy, didn't matter if you were conservative or not. That's why he's a legend, he called out both sides on their bullshit and was largely right.
"It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it." That's a straight down the middle call for everyone to wake the hell up.
I’d be interested to see where Carlin would fall nowadays if he was still alive. He had a severe case of Bush Derangement Syndrome, so would he be on the “orange man bad” train? But he was also highly critical of politically correct language, thought policing and the protocol-SJW movement in the 90s - 00s, so would he be on the side of the right in the culture war? Would he have gotten ‘canceled’ for some of his old material (“Rape Can Be Funny”, his “every ethnic slur ever” monologue, etc)? Or would he be on Twitter apologizing for said routines?
I’m not a fan of them either, but the Left didn’t even have good reasons for hating them. It was just the same “OMG Bush is a retarded evil sexist homophobic bigot racist retard” stuff they’ve done for the past four years with Trump.
I take it you've never watched his political material? You should. I don't want to mis-quote Carlin either. It's been a few years since I've watched his stuff.
He found enough to shit on in each political party. He was definitely no leftist.
“The habits of liberals, their automatic language, their knee-jerk responses to certain issues, deserved the epithets the right wing stuck them with. I'd see how true they often were. Here they were, banding together in packs, so I could predict what they were going to say about some event or conflict and it wasn't even out of their mouths yet. I was very uncomfortable with that. Liberal orthodoxy was as repugnant to me as conservative orthodoxy.”
Republican politicians or just the people? Because there's a yuge difference.

Of course he would have TDS.
Hating the Bush family is no vice.

Bullshit alert!
That's a straight down the middle shit on America.

George Carlin made fun of 'white bourgeois liberals' for their Save The Planet hypochondriac bullshit.

I probably should. I just like his stand up.
