Definitely this. I don't drink or smoke, but that just meant I was the eternal DD for my military unit. After years of that, I became the unit memory keeper, the sacred sage of the unit's drunken wild misadventures. The new guys would huddle around as I would be called in to relay to them the stories of our insanity.
I had so much fun going to bars and parties even without drinking. I like being able to go straight to alert & ready at the drop of a hat if I need to, even at a party.
Still my favorite moment: Dancing on a table at a bar with two chicks when someone said "That guy's so hammered!" and one of my buddies shouted back "He doesn't drink!"
Same deal here. Couple nights of DD and you realize that most of the drunken/high experiences probably didn’t happen how you thought they did. Sober at strip clubs as a DD is also fun if you like strippers.m and they know what you’re up to.
It’s the right move but not always the easiest or most fun!

Instead of strip clubs, please consider a good woman who can be your wife.
You can do it. Sucks at first but it's amazing once you have your head clear.
