Corporate controlled apps and other communication methods obviously can and will ban anyone supporting our president. Just like we had to establish our own forums, we should be using our own real time text communication rather than relying on companies like discord.

Back in the mid 00's I frequently used IRC servers for a big online community that I was part of. Now I'm not savvy enough to set one up for thedonald, but my understanding is that they are fairly easy to set up for someone with technical know-how.

Does anyone have the knowledge/experience/ability to set up an IRC server? That way as long as we call connect to the internet, our communications are out of the control of any company's whims to shut it down.

I've been posting a bunch of memes recently for a little gathering we have in #thedonald on irc.ircnet.com:6667 ... feel free to stop by

ircnet is just an arbitrarily selected server were a few thedonald users happened to run into each other when one of the discords got nuked. It's not official or anything but we generally have 20-30 people in the channel.
