Testicle. Singular. Technically, all chickens have one ovary and one testicle. The difference is which one is active. There are cases of a hen's testicle becoming active, in which case, the hen starts crowing, grows a larger wattle and comb, and generally acting like a male.
Don't ask me if the genderbent chickens are capable of reproducing. There are stories of roosters laying eggs and hens in female only enclosures laying fertile eggs, but the documentation of these things is on the level of bigfoot photos. Usually, they explain it away by saying that someone improperly sexed a bird.
Hens do have a second, undeveloped gonad, which can develop into an ovotestis under certain circumstances.
But I freely admit my mistake in assuming that the same biological quirk was present in both genders. I'm not infallible, and I thank you for correcting me.
I never expected discussion on .win to go here, lol
Worse, my neighbor has 13 chickens. Not sure how he figured out how to keep the red fox and possum from eating them, but he's had this batch a while. A hawk tried flying away with one. If that chicken had any balls they're gone now, it freaked right the fuck out.
A Castrated Rooster is a Capon. all they are good for is to be fatten up for the slaughter
How does someone castrate a rooster?
I never thought much about where a bird’s testicles were

STRICTLY HARAM
But if it was a goat, ABSOLUTELY HALAL!
That is complete bullshit. Roosters have 2 testicles and hens have 1 ovary and 0 testicles.

So when a rooster is castrated, is it chemically castrated or is the testicle removed?
Historically, it's been done both ways. Chemical is more common these days.
Not natural. This most likely explains it regarding chickens and human males as well.

Cornish cross birds are an abomination.
