They are representatives and are to FOLLOW the will of the people. You are taxed (forced) to pay them money to carry out representation. They are public servants.
While GEOTUS exercises effective leadership, he is nonetheless an elected official representing the will of the people, same for anyone else who shows up on a ballot (Joe Biden being the exception, as he was anointed and not elected).
Don’t even get me started on the “leadership” of the house and senate. For someone to refer to the house or senate majority “leaders” elected first by some other state or district then a collection of representatives as “our leaders”, they are mistaken and do not lead you at all, nor are they required to represent you. The only voices representing you in Washington DC are your President, two senators and house reps. Don’t give any other official elected by another state so much credit as to be your leader.
