My family has been in the mortuary transportation business for forty years. There has been no rise in deaths (even in the elderly) this year. All deaths from respiratory illnesses and flus are listed as Covid. Hospitals are paid more if they call something covid (I say call because they technically don’t even have to diagnose) And they are paid even more if a patient dies from “covid.” It is the most evil fraud ever perpetrated. If a person is brought in to the emergency room and dies from a drug overdose or motorcycle accident, by the time we get to the hospital they have often been moved to the “covid morgue.” Disgusting.
My local hospitals have halted any elective surgeries due to Covid bed concerns. In normal times, The elective surgeries are the money making products for any hospitals. They calculated it’s more profitable to go in 100% Covid with Covid money than providing needed care to local people. These hospital administrators....
This goes way higher up than the hospital admins, their input is minimal. If they don't toe the line, they will be fired and replaced by the hospital boards for jeopardizing the funding and thus survivability of the hospital itself. Individual hospitals that don't do what they are told will close. To stay in compliance with the funding laws they have to go along with the CDC recommendations or they lose funding from medicare, insurance companies who base rules on medicare, etc. The CDC, NIH, AMA, and CMS are pulling the strings and will blacklist anybody who does not follow the line..

But those who simply trust the experts and think that "settled science" is a thing will point to the author being coerced into disavowing the study as evidence that something was wrong with the analysis. Yep. My buddy got hit with a strong strain of it from a relative of his who went on a vent and died later. He's one of those unlucky few with no comorbidities. During his quarantine I stressed to him not to just stay indoors and that he should chill outside every day. He's the only one I've seen lose the ability to taste and the only one I've spoken to that lost a healthy relative/friend. There's always a possibility that his relative had a comorbidity that their extended family didn't know about tho.
I lost my sense of taste and smell in March for two months. I also didn't die of this deadly disease.
What's insane to me is that they're counting EVERYTHING as Covid. Dry cough and no fever? Not a cold. It's Covid. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea? Not a stomach bug or food poisoning. Covid. Green snot and a headache that's lingered for weeks? It can't be a sinus infection. It's Covid. Back ache and painful urination? That's 100% Covid. Weird skin rash? Oh, that's Covid.
Thankfully, my doctor appears to have awakened from his Covid-induced trance and is now actually practicing medicine again.
It was the tests that got through to him. Even when he had patients in the hospital with textbook Covid symptoms and negative everything else the tests were negative. Tests to screen patients who'd been exposed were positive way too often. He started doing random tests to see what came back and found that they were insanely inaccurate. The lack of the flu this winter is blowing his mind.

New York has some official flu numbers but they're half of what they were same week 2017 2018 and 1/6th of 2019. For last week when I looked it was just below 300, compared to about 600 for 17 and 18 and over 1800 in 2019.
I can see it being down from 1800, that was a big jump, but being half of average is sus.
EMT but work directly with several acute facilities. I have had several nurse, at different facilities, tell me that if a patient comes in with flu like symptoms they told to run a COVID test and not a Influenza test.
Several have openly stated to me that the main reason flu cases are down this year is because acute facilities are not testing for them.

I do remember a news article back around March of this year. It was a hospital doctor in the New Orleans area, describing what he was seeing with CoVid as the outbreak started to unfold. Remember, this was back in the days when we knew little about what we were dealing with. He made a comment about how this new disease seems to chase all the other bugs out of town. He noted that flu cases seemed to drop down to nothing. Now that being said, the flu did hit my ex-wife's house three times this year. Keep in mind, there were only two (regular) strains of flu out there, Strain A and Strain B (plus CoVid). While everyone did test negative for CoVid, it does make you wonder.

What is going on? It doesn't make sense that COVID PCR tests are identifying flu as COVID, but it matches the disappearance of flu in March and the really low numbers now.
What's happening is people get the flu, feel bad, and freak out thinking it's covid, go get a covid test, and test positive because the PCR tests are done for 40 cycles and will identify a few dead nucleotides from an exposure 6 months ago as a fresh case.
Now that they have tested positive for covid, they don't bother with a flu test. It's that simple.

If you have the flu and covid, they test for covid and consider any deaths to be due to covid. But covid can be asymptomatic. It might have literally 0 impact on a death. It DOES make sense that CCPvirus tests identify flu as CCPvirus: PCR tests can't differentiate between Influenza A, B, or CCPvirus. PCR tests were never intended to be used to diagnose a patient.
I would like to see an explanation or proof of that. Influenza is a different virus family than coronavirus. I don't know much about PCR tests, but it would be totally incompetent for them to use tests identifying influenza or other coronaviruses as COVID19.

A PCR test can be turned up so high literally everyone tests positive. As it's being used, it repeats about 38x which is WAY above anything sensible. Our only appropriate response is to not get tested, be beyond terse towards any contact tracing attempts that may try to snare us in the system. Stay away from it at all costs. And boost our immune systems. Lots of cheap OTC stuff actually helps. If any of the measures were concerned about public health, they would've told us about lockdowns destroying our immune systems and what we can do to strengthen them. Something as simple as a long hot bath if we're not doing any exercise to raise our body temperature; CCPvirus weakens our innate immune system and can prevent us from developing a fever normally.
70% of all patients admitted to the hospital for this in NYC had NO fever, meaning all the screening for fever is just designed to give people a false sense of security. It has no value whatsoever. Incompetence, or evil? I would say the evil is limited to the upper echelons creating policy, while the people administering the tests are trying to do good work. I have very close ties to an ICU worker in a major hospital in a big city. They would normally be busy with flu season but they have the same situation - literally zero flu cases.
If this were due to misdiagnosing flu as COVID, they would be extremely busy. The COVID ward isn't overwhelmed. Could the masks and social distancing be working on the flu? Did the flu disappear? Does it rely heavily on travel between hemispheres to stay alive in our summer?
This is what I think, too, pede. I test pretty much all of my patients with fever for flu starting in October/November. I haven't had any positives yet this year.

I’m an ER nurse in LA. I haven’t seen a single flu diagnosis yet this year. My friends haven’t either. It’s super strange. We do have a ton of covid tho. In the last week or two it blew up. It makes me wonder if the PCR test sometimes reads flu as covid positive. Doesn’t explain why the flu test would be negative tho. I will ask the lab if they are running as many flu tests as usual. It would not surprise me at all if many many many of the mild cases are flu.
I also oppose mandatory masks and lockdowns (vehemently). However, it’s probably good if people want to continue exercising caution (at their own discretion) because we are really struggling with patient volume right now. I have read that the PCR test for CCPvirus can't differentiate between Influenza A, B, and CCPvirus. Assuming that the flu test is better, the number of these ran as compared to prior years becomes valuable information.
Also significant is total deaths from all causes, year over year. I am told this number is down, or normal. If that's the case there is no pandemic.

At the end of the year I want to see the total death numbers from 2020 and compare them to the past ten years. My hunch is that the overall death rate will be pretty much the same.
My friends father in law had 2 different strains of flu and pneumonia that placed him in the hospital for over a week back in March. He ended up getting SARS CoV 2, he figured it out as he was tired the day before Thanksgiving. Since he is 70ish and had that problem in March and has COPD she made him go to the clinic. They called an ambulance and cleared the area. They wouldn't let him leave on his own accord. The ended up making him stay in the Hospital for 2 days. He never even had a fever, never had breathing problems, and wasn't tired after a few days. They could have let him go home to self monitor but no they wanted that $1,000 ride and $10K+ Hospital stay.
I am convinced that people who die from this virus that don't have 2+ other major problems are dying of an allergic reaction.

I work in a hospital. I’ve seen no flu admissions. Also very few pneumonia admissions. I have to look at charts as part of my job and saw a diagnosis of pneumonia-COVID related. I remember thinking if it’s COVID related respiratory issues that sure is an odd way of charting it.
COVID diagnoses pay more to hospitals and doctors than flu or pneumonia diagnoses do. You know, because it is more dangerous and they need to pay for people to take more precautions.

I do not think flu has arrived yet. A standard is to not test for influenza. Diagnosis of influenza-like illness is more realistic of cases. The flu swabs I have been ordering have mostly been negative, and my rapid PCR does both COVID and Influenza A & B. We had a late flu season last year as well. Anecdotally, I didn’t start seeing a lot of it until early January through March. I suspect the same this year.
