Serious.

Property taxes per year @1% on 500k condo is 5 grand in taxes. Not counting income tax (state and fed), sales tax (9%), and all the other nickel and dime horseshit.

All for having the privilege of owning where you sleep.

They want you poor and reliant on Democrat handouts. Enjoy your $600, kids. I know it seems like a lot when you're 22, but you're getting robbed.

I feel ya. It's not just that we're working for someone else for 90+ days, it's that the money is going to people who disrespect and sneer at us. At all levels. I'm tired of feeling like being a productive person just makes you a natural resource to be mined. "Just write the checks and shut up, bigot!"

You don't start making money for yourself until Wednesday.

Yep, I hate new years. I get to start keeping my money some time in April.

And that $600 will be taxed as income so it’s only$400 for you

~20% State and Federal combined ~15% FICA (count the employer contribution) ~3k in sales tax a year ~7k property tax for the house

I paid roughly 40% of my income to the governments. I count FICA because them taking it means I have to work 10 years longer to invest enough to retire. I also won't get it when I would benefit the most from it if I manage to retire early.

don't forge sales tax, gas tax, fees licenses and permits

horrible longevity insurance tax (social security)

Then those odd states where you pay property tax on your car and boat every year.

Put two zeros there for me. I'd rather it go to you then funding sex changes (Which the government pays for).

I didn't get the full $1200 last time either, whatever I get of this $600 nonsense will probably not even cover the trip to DC for 1/6.

I just paid $2700 in property taxes today. I feel like I'm being punked.

Same, although slightly less property tax rate here. Sucks ass knowing what garbage it’s going to

Public schools, which suck and are closed lol

Do you happen to live in Dallas? I paid $2900 in property taxes with most of it going to DISD which is a total disaster.
