This is more than just a fight for the Presidency, and I think most of you know this. This is a fight for the Republic. Benjamin Franklin once said "You have a republic if you can keep it." This holds more true than ever now. We stand on the precipice of losing it right now.
This did not happen over night it has been a slow process. I cannot speak to a cabal or mafia like conspiracy, though it appears that is the case now, but I don't think it started with that. It started with us, the American people. We have for to long asked our government for this. With every call for money, programs, laws for supposed safety, we give up our responsibility for our lives. We ask others to take up the burden of the uncertainty of life. Each of us must be responsible for our own destiny, good, or bad. We can no longer ask the government for Social Security, welfare or any such safety nets. This provides them with the power of our purses and diverts our agency to the government. If you want freedom and wish to keep it, you, and only you, must control every aspect of your life and shoulder that burden.
This election must be won, but what happens after? We must demand the ending of government social programs. It will be hard, it will be painful, it will be ugly. But if you wish to restore the Constitution and liberty it is necessary. We must elect and demand our current representatives make this the top priority. We are in times of great importance the likes of which are of the same significance of our Founders drafting the Declaration of Independence. We MUST have their resolve, conviction, and courage. These men and women pledged everything to Liberty, ought we do the same? This may seem unfair, life is not fair. When it falls to a people to take on the harsh duty of restoration of Liberty we cannot falter. And though our lives may be hard because of it, we may at least walk with the pride of righteousness and live in the hearts of future generation as those who did not bend in the face of danger and adversity. The future of a free people is worth all the slings and arrows. Let them record that we did not shy from it.
There are a lot of calls for President Trump to cross the Rubicon. I say to hell with that. I DECLARE NOW THAT THE PRESIDNET CROSS THE DELEWARE! Mr President, do not become Caesar, become WASHINGTON! The Republic must be restored under the Constitution.
Agree on general principle, but I do want to shed some light on social services.
They're terribly designed right now. They're designed to keep people dependent. As just one example, a single mother brings in more in benefits by not working at all than if she made over $70k. It's virtually impossible to jump from unemployed to making over $70k and that doesn't count child care. People aren't that dumb, when the incentives are this fucked up they act in their best interests.
It's possible to scale back the magnitude, make them truly only applicable to necessities (no iPhone MaXi, no grocery cart full of donuts and Cheetos), and most importantly make them scale such that the overall financial picture improves for every dollar the person makes. Implemented correctly the incentive should always be to leave the system - but the current state is the polar opposite.
All of those programs are a form of wealth redistribution. The only lawful and Constitutional safety nets are private Charities. They cannot be done right by the government as the principle behind it is corrupt. Government does not create wealth, it can only take it. It is either ok to take resources from some to give to others or it is not. If we concede this principle axiom we have already lost the battle. This is how the corrupt can use our better nature and benevolence to gain power. I think it is important to reject it from the government and much better and affective to handle it ourselves. We are a good people, with compassion, and goodwill I trust us to do the right thing before any government.
