If they try to be your friend: lawyer.

If they try to reason with you: lawyer.

If they try to guilt or shame you: lawyer.

If they threaten to arrest you: lawyer.

If they threaten to call in backup to drag you out: lawyer.

If they do arrest you and drag you out get a lawyer and sue the police department.

The time to argue is through your lawyer during the lawsuit. This is how you win.

Except the courts have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they are compromised and politically hyper-partisan. Our avenues to redress grievances have been taken, theres not many options left

Plus, a fair number can't afford to pay a lawyer just to prove the point.

All it takes is one case to make it to scotus for new precedent to be set.

If it can happen in Portugal it can happen here. PCR tests are the way. No test, no cases.

Don't be so temperamental. They just gave us a GIANT victory on the census. No illegals = CA losing a LOT of seats in the house.

At this point, just be on alert to stick up for whoever gets hassled by anyone. Be like the bystanders who videoed George Floyd. (Who died of an extreme fentanyl overdose.)

Correct. You don't have to identify yourself either even if they say you do. To force identification, the police have to already established PROBABLE CAUSE of a crime ALREADY committed.

The courts have already ruled that refusing to identify in itself is not a crime. Remember, you have the right to remain silent. If you have to identify, then you have lost your right to remain silent.

IF you are arrested for only failing to identify, then the arrest is unlawful and you have a good lawsuit!

Edit: When it comes to a traffic violation stop, you are required to identify yourself and if you don't, you certainly can be arrested.

You don't have the right to an attorney until you are charged. The best thing to do if approached is be calm and polite, leave if requested, and if arrested, then do NOT give a statement and ask for an attorney asap.

Never talk to a cop without a lawyer present. NEVER.

Ignore this advice and you deserve the bad things that WILL happen to you.

Any competent attorney won't allow you to talk to the police at all. The only time I have been with into a police station with a client was to drag them out of an interview room. Don't talk, period.
