Its possible they just weren't aware it was happening. I spend a lot of time with plenty of twenty-somethings that would chomp at the bit to be there. People my age just don't spend much time on Facebook or are in the comms network of the average attendee there. In portland however, the twenty somethings are worthless, so YMMV.
This is Portland Oregon. Not a lot of 20-somethings there who aren't either card carrying members of or else vocal supporters of Antifa. I'm honestly impressed they got this many people to protest against the lockdowns, and suspect a fair few are from the non-crazy parts of Oregon (also known as the entire rest of the state).
I have a group of about 25 guys in there 20s that are all about doing this. We never heard about this and we all have to work today or watch our kids. This wasn't very well advertised, we can just walk out of our jobs or leave our kids.
Organization continues to be our problem, even before the social media censorship making it harder. Especially for stuff on a weekday, if you want someone other than retirees and the unemployed to show up the people with jobs need some advance notice. For example how many of us would be heading to DC if we only found out about it the night before rather than over this past weekend?
It’s well known people get more conservative as they get older. That used to happen in the early 20s, but now the immaturity tied to liberalism can persist into the 40s thanks to the pussification of America and feminization of men.

It's great until the cops use the fact that they were under mace attack as justification to shoot someone because "muh gun might get stolen"
