In most places across the US, that's all they have time for. One call after another. They hit the street and head to Walmart for a shoplifter. After that, there's 5-10 calls on the board just for their beat. They go to all the public and domestic disturbances first and try to resolve those without having to take someone to jail. Domestics often end in arrests which takes them off the streets for 25% of their shift when you include transportation, booking and report writing. When they get back on the streets, more drunk calls, disturbances, shoplifters in custodies, maybe an armed robbery or high profile event occurs. Then don't forget about all the vehicle crashes that take a huge amount of their time.

From what I can gather the people here do not believe police are all bad and do not believe defunding the police will make colored fellas safer in general. People here also do not believe a man should simply follow orders if those orders are illegal. We want to believe that police officers will enforce the law, not orders. That's why they're called law enforcement officers.
The term "law and order" takes the word order to mean isentropic as opposed to commanded. We want to prevent disorder with the laws created by our representatives, approved of by our leader, and clarified by judges when we aren't sure if they're being broken or not.

If violence broke out I think our guys are well trained and equipped to protect ourselves quickly and efficiently. We all know that when seconds matter police are only minutes away. This. The police where I've lived have been decent enough, but in places like LA, the really big departments, that's where the real corruption is. LAPD, Long Beach Police, a lot of LA area police departments have decades of corruption.
But a small town cop, like my cousin? He's just chasing down drunks and intervening on neighbors fighting over property lines.
In most places across the US, that's all they have time for. One call after another. They hit the street and head to Walmart for a shoplifter. After that, there's 5-10 calls on the board just for their beat. They go to all the public and domestic disturbances first and try to resolve those without having to take someone to jail. Domestics often end in arrests which takes them off the streets for 25% of their shift when you include transportation, booking and report writing. When they get back on the streets, more drunk calls, disturbances, shoplifters in custodies, maybe an armed robbery or high profile event occurs. Then don't forget about all the vehicle crashes that take a huge amount of their time.

Chanting is an expression of aggression and a prelude to more permanent actions. If it wasn't effective, it wouldn't have been present through many cultures over many years. It's still present in the modern military but has also found form in militaristic music.

From what I can gather the people here do not believe police are all bad and do not believe defunding the police will make colored fellas safer in general. People here also do not believe a man should simply follow orders if those orders are illegal. We want to believe that police officers will enforce the law, not orders. That's why they're called law enforcement officers.
The term "law and order" takes the word order to mean isentropic as opposed to commanded. We want to prevent disorder with the laws created by our representatives, approved of by our leader, and clarified by judges when we aren't sure if they're being broken or not.

I see. The more I think about it, the issue might come across this way to some:
-BLM and ANTIFA protests turn violent quite often, ours don't. -BLM and ANTIFA have been taught to protest police, we haven't. -BLM and ANTIFA demand cutting the resources for the police, we seen no value in that decision. -BLM and ANTIFA have voted for democrats who cheated their way into office AND pandered to the above demands.
The police are protecting the very people (by just following orders) from the peaceful victims of fraud, and they're doing it with the very gear that the people they protect have promised to take away. The frustration comes from that quagmire. We need them to step aside so we can fight FOR them. Once they take the tyrants side they're not worth fighting for, and we are happy to resist them when the time comes. When BLM and ANTIFA show up to places they shouldn't be (like businesses with large glass windows) the police don't stop them from entering or exiting (or burning), but they don't mind showing up to stop us. They KNEEL to the left. We find it pathetic.
If violence broke out I think our guys are well trained and equipped to protect ourselves quickly and efficiently. We all know that when seconds matter police are only minutes away. Having the police closer only helps if they have the mentality of enforcing law, not acting like Pablo's security team. Those cops weren't there to prevent violence between the left and the right, they represent a heavily armed left and faced an unarmed right. That isn't violence prevention.
As far as burning bridges, yeah, I don't like to go to the extremes like some people here and on the left do. Emotion amplifies some of our reactions.
