What the hell is going on in this country we had reservations at the Hyatt Regency right by the capital for the fifth through the seventh they canceled our reservations last night at 1:30 in the morning. So I got a hold of them today and they said they were shut down completely. I mean what the duck is going on. Anyone else had there’s canceled? Now what the hell am I supposed to do with plane tickets and no place to stay.

I actually got banned from Reddit a few months before that. So I have no idea. But if it's "the very event that got us kicked off reddit" it sounds like it could have been staged as well.
There are deeply conservative people in OR. Most of the state is, minus three cities in fact

Portland, Salem, and Eugene are the worst, but Ashland is pushing to join them.
I don't usually list demonic portals to hell as "cities" unless they have a much larger population than Ashland.
Idaho still doesn't want em. No matter how nice they ask.
