It’s unwise to generalize the police for obvious reasons. None of us know what each policeman thinks or what motivates them to follow orders they may disagree with. The wise thing to do is call out the bad actors and support the ones that follow The Constitution. Painting them all with the same brush is unfair to the ones that do not deserve it.

I would have backed this sentiment a few months ago... but after watching countless American cities BURN while being LOOTED and PILLAGED by deranged, America-hating leftists and left-wing terrorist groups like Antifa, I'm fucking over it.

Where I live they swear an oath to defend the state AND the federal constitutions. As a practical matter they have a chain of command and it’s a clear hierarchy. If the local authorities order the police to avoid protestors/rioters then the police do not really have an option to simply ignore their superiors and bust skulls over busted windows or stolen Chinese made crap at stores.

I distinctly recall my local p.d. ordered to de escalate but prevent the blockage of the major east west freeway. They did that masterfully but they also saved the life of a MAGA hat wearing guy who was getting pummeled and chased. More recently in the neighboring city protests got destructive and the cops were clear to scatter the rioters. Some of the cops were using pepper balls to target those breaking things, throwing stuff. Well a “grandmother” got an eye shot out. Now as it turns out footage emerged of her throwing glass bottles at cops and at a distance could a cop tell her age? Does it matter?

But simply getting angry with all police for the actions of some or the failures of elected leaders is really missing the ball. The NYPD wants to keep New York safe; it’s commie wack job DeBlasio who would prefer crime up to prove some point. And presumably the majority of New Yorkers voted for the tool and will correct their mistake.

Do you really believe that there will be any fair elections after this if Trump is forced to leave? I don't believe there will be any point in elections anymore when the counters decide who is elected.
