The love is for law and order and the enforcing of the Constitution.

It just used to be cops who did that...

Cops have never enforced the constitution, they don't exist to "serve and protect". They exist to enforce the laws of the state on the people.

Umm... Its universal that every cop swear to uphold the US Constitution first, the states Constitution second and the office in which they serve when sworn in.

So yeah... They are supposed to abide by and enforce the Constitution first, then state, then the offices of whatever mayor/governor/sherrif they belong to.

Which multiple sherrifs offices over the last 10 years have refused to enforce anti 2A laws and recent lockdown laws.

God bless sheriffs. They are not exactly cops. We don't need cops. Have the sheriff deputize the militia if they need a high profile arrest or extra man power.

Cops are order takers, and the police as an institution is there to protect the system and powers that be.

Unfortunately, In the current policing system the role of the sheriffs have been reduced to a ceremonial role in many jurisdictions and counties (big cities). For example the LA sheriff doesn't have proper jurisdiction over the city itself.
