They are keeping all of them until they have them all and verified here in the IE. This might not be the case everywhere but the people in charge are very transparent about what's going on. 1 week ago it was around 850k before the thanksgiving numbers were added.

I want to believe California, where I was born and raised, is turning red but with the millions of residents it seems like it shouldn't have even taken this long to reach the required number. I get Covid is a factor in all this but realistically most people don't follow the stay at home orders 70% of the time and they've been having big crowds at the protests.
