I used to say that. Found out earlier this year that the supreme court ruled the line item veto was unconstitutional. Makes absolutely no sense. So these big omnibus bills are now a way of life. That's a problem, but we have bigger problems right now.

He just needs to write an EO. Remember, the Kenyan’s DACA EO is as legal as any law passed by Congress, SCOTUS ruled on that.

Line Item Veto may be gone but I recall a couple of other recent El Presidentes using "signing statements" to accomplish a similar effect.

Line item veto was ruled as unconstitutional in Clinton v. City of New York.

Clinton used it like 80 plus times in the short period it was active.

I think it was newt gingrich that was instrumental in getting rid of it. I actually like him, but disagree with that.

He can't do a line item veto, but he could veto the whole thing forcing them to get a veto proof majority.
