I want the names of each person that put a piece into that bill, and what their piece was. so much corruption and foreign back scratching.

Well here's one. The "Basic Education Coalition" thanked four specific congresspeople for including $950 million for "international basic education": Nita Lowey (D-NY), Hal Rogers (R-KY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Patrick Leahy (D-NH).

The international basic education fund includes $ to improve and expand access to "distance learning opportunities."

That's great and all. But why are we subsidizing other countries' distance-learning programs when our own schools have been closed for a year?!? Can we focus on reopening our own communities?

I almost regret voting for Graham this year. But I guess he's better than the democratic guy. Dude is seriously making me rethink my choices though.

I read earlier that earmarked funds are making a come-back in Congress' omnibus spending bills.

So I wonder if Graham just made joint deals to get support for the following projects that benefit SC.

(22) CITY OF CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA.—Project for tidal- and inland-related flood risk management, Charleston, South Carolina (53) Project for flood risk management, Dorchester County, South Carolina. (54) Project for navigation, Georgetown Harbor, South Carolina. (55) Project for hurricane and storm damage risk reduction, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I'd much rather have taxpayer $ fund projects that benefit SC than go to Libya and Sudan at a time like this. But I think there needs to be greater transparency in general from Congress. And I really don't think they should be voting on a bill this massive so soon after the final text is published. It's outrageous.
